Old McWegener Had a Farm...E-I-E-I-O

I have had some requests for an update on our chickens...Let me just say that this weekend exemplifies the differences between Josh and I and brings even greater truth to the fact that opposites attract!!! While I was brunching with the girls and getting pictures taken with Lilly, the men were home building us a chicken coop. I'm ever so excited to have such a contraption at my lovely house....right....but that being said, Josh did a really good job with it and was pretty creative with its functionality. He had no template to reference, just good ole fashion Wegener ingenuity. I'm sort of impressed. The chicks are quickly becomming chickens and getting really big! They should start laying eggs around October. Here are some pics of the new coop and the little critters checking out their new digs.

Old Man Wegener Himself with his glorious coop

On the front there is a door that folds down so we can reach in a grab the eggs from the nesting boxes. Pretty smart there sir.
Here are the chicks checking out the place...aren't they big?

Ok, seriously? You're keeping them??? I thought it was a fun thing for Easter, but you folks are crazy! Next thing you know, your milking your own cows and making cheese!
