I've realized the the blog as been somewhat "Lilly focused" since her arrival, so I thought that I would take a moment to reflect on some of Jacob's best phrases from the past few months.... this kid cracks me up, so I hope you get a kick out of it too! For reading ease, I will attempt to translate out of toddler speak :)
1. In response to "what are you doing, Jacob?" he says...."Ummm, I don't know....sumpin' (aka something)"
---which means, "Nothing good, Mama, you can be sure of that"
2. While eating any food, he will shove it in your mouth, while saying "Try this one, Mama, it's good for you....you like it!"
---which means "Listen woman, if I have to eat broccoli, so do you!"
3. His favorite song....."Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell, one horse pop up SLEIGH----A!"
---this would be the poor man's Jingle Bells
4. With two plastic saws in hand, shouts "I gunna CUT UP that Monster...I cut him up so he don't eat me!"
---which means that somehow I have terrified my child and he things Monster's are going to eat him...not my proudest moment :)
5. When told it's bedtime, he screams..."2 more minutes!!!"
---seeing as he can't tell time, we roughly translate this into...."hmmm...how else can I procrastinate? Maybe a little potty time? Maybe a book or 10? Let's see how long I can drag this out"
6. Although the best big brother ever, he is routinely told to be soft to his baby sister, and Jacob proceeds to shake his head back and forth while saying "It's okay, mama, I love her...she is a baby gir-la, I be careful."
---Which is frankly the sweetest thing I've ever heard.

Lilly's Baptism
Today we celebrated Lilly's Baptism with family and friends. We had a special service at the church (where Jacob kept asking Father "why do you have your boots on?":) My brother and sister-in-law are Lilly's God Parents and we were just blessed to have so many of our friends and family there to share in her special day. I made her gown and bonnet out of my wedding dress as I figure that there will be no way she wants to wear my wedding dress on her big day...but at 3 months old, I can make her wear it as her Baptism gown. It was a lot of work, but turned out beautifully and will now be a treasured possession that I'm hoping one day Lilly's daughter will wear.

Christmas 2008
I've been bad about updating our blog, but am resolving to do a better job in 2009! So just as a final recap of 2008 is a slide show from our Christmas! It was such a blessing to celebrate with family and friends and to do so as a family of four!
