Quote of the Week

I know you're starting to see a pattern here, but this week's potty time brings us the story of the beaver.... (I know...you can't make this stuff up!)

Jacob is on the potty and all of a sudden, cocks his head to one side and says "What was that? I think it was a beaver! What is a beaver doing in our driveway? I know....I will use my beaver whistle and scare him away (pretends to blow in a whistle). There...that did the trick. Mama, I don't want beavers in our yard, chewing the trees....they make things Shaaaaaddddyyyyy!"

Quote of the Week

I broke my toe earlier this summer and Jacob was on the case. He not so gently pulled off my sandal one evening and said:

"Let me see that toe of yours, Mama. I am a doctor, and I will fix you right up. I called Uncle Jon and he told me what to do"

Uncle Jon is an actual doctor, so I found it pretty funny that he was channelling his Dr. Uncle as he "fixed up" my toe problem!

Quote of the Week

One of the last days at daycare this year, they had a Teddy Bear Picnic. The kids read the book "Teddy Bear Picnic", they all brought their favorite bear to school and we had to send them with a packed lunch so they could eat picnic style. The night before, picture Josh and Jacob laying in Jacob's bed before night night....

Josh: Tomorrow is going to be so much fun! You guys get to have a picnic outside with your teddy bears!
Jacob: (All exasberated) OH NO.....I NEED A LUNCH BOX!!!!
Josh: Don't worry, Mommy got you and Lilly lunch boxes so you are all set
Jacob: (Sigh of relief) Mama's the best...she always gets the best stuff....I shouldn't worry

Quote of the Week

In another episode of funny things that Jacob says while on the potty, we were having our nightly discussion and it went something like this....

Jacob: Mama, how many are you?
Mama: I'm thirty-one
Jacob: How many is Daddy?
Mama: He's thirty-two
Jacob: That's older than you!
Mama: (Insert big smile) Yes it is
Jacob: I'm four...just four...I don't have another number
Mama: (Died laughing)

Quote of the Week

As the whole family is getting ready to head out the door, Jacob sees his Dad packing his bag with his lunch and says "Daddy, how come your teacher doesn't make your lunch?" Josh replies with a laugh "Well, bud, I'm the teacher". Jacob thinks for a minute and says "So, do you make everybody lunch?"
